Located on Victoria Road in Hartlepool, The Haven has been a lifeline for local young people since 2004, offering free, confidential counselling to those aged 11–25. In a warm, safe space, we help them navigate anxiety, low mood, trauma, and other emotional challenges, fostering resilience, self-awareness, and confidence.
Our impact is real and growing last year alone, over 90 young people in Hartlepool accessed our support, many reporting improved emotional wellbeing, stronger relationships, and the ability to stay in school or work. But demand continues to rise, and waiting times are now being stretched.
We’re now seeking compassionate volunteer counsellors who are qualified professionals or BACP-registered students—for just two afternoons a week.
In return, we offer paid supervision, travel reimbursement, and the chance to deepen your skills while transforming lives.
