Hartlepool Big Town Tidy Up

Hartlepool Big Town Tidy Up (HBTTU) is a community-led litter-picking network helping residents tackle rubbish, fly-tipping and grot spots across the town. Volunteers have already removed tens of thousands of bags of rubbish, showing how small actions add up to a cleaner, prouder Hartlepool.

Volunteering is completely self-led – you choose when, where and how often you get involved. Free equipment such as litter pickers, bags and hoops are available from the HBTTU hub at The Salaam Community Centre, so you can do solo picks near your home, on the school run or during a quick walk.

There are also regular group litter picks, which are a great way to meet new people, get some fresh air and boost neighbourhood pride.

You don’t need special skills – just a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to making Hartlepool a town we’re proud of.

HBTTU is looking for people who can spare anything from a couple of hours on the occasional weekend to more regular support on an evening. For more information on being part of HBTTU.
